Reflecting on the passing year during which Machine Learning kept making headlines all over the world, it has been thought-provoking to gain more perspective as we look back. Since BigML’s pioneering foundation in 2011, The BigML Team has been consistently adding to our comprehensive Machine Learning platform with a diverse array of algorithms ready to solve numerous classification and regression challenges using both supervised and unsupervised learning techniques. More importantly, we have brought those formerly exclusionary techniques to the masses looking to make better business decisions without breaking the bank.
We have shipped more than 20 major releases! Highlights include Object Detection and Image Processing which let you create supervised and unsupervised ML models using your image data, OptiML that automatically evaluates hundreds of supervised models (decision trees, ensembles, logistic regression, and deepnets) with different hyperparameters as it outputs the best models, and WhizzML (the domain-specific language that lets you automate Machine Learning workflows and even implement high-level ML algorithms). Those releases provide a complete array of options for businesses and organizations across industries to solve their ML problems in a cost-effective manner.
We have also developed 9 complementary tools and modules that have made life easier for many ML professionals. For instance, our Bindings and Libraries let developers build their own ML applications with their preferred programming language; BigMLer, the command line tool, lets you execute your Machine Learning workflows in a single line; BigML GAS, the Google Sheets add-on, automatically fills the missing values in your spreadsheets by leveraging your existing ML models; and BigML Ops automates the entire Machine Learning lifecycle so you can focus on solving your business problems reliably instead of building and maintaining your own MLOps infrastructure.
Additionally, we have been greatly enjoying spreading the word about our platform and the importance of democratizing Machine Learning to make it accessible to everyone. The primary channels we have used for that have been our 12 Machine Learning Schools that took place in Valencia and Seville (Spain), Breukelen (Netherlands), São Paulo (Brazil), Doha (Qatar), and increasingly online. We have also organized 20+ other industry events, both on site in global locations and online.
All these initiatives have made it possible that today we have 190K+ registered customers from 180+ countries that trust BigML to solve their ML challenges. We are also proud to share that we have had 12K+ education subscribers from 850+ education institutions learning Machine Learning with BigML.

In 2023, the BigML Development Team has been busy further improving the platform’s architecture and infrastructure. Many of these enhancements are not visible to the audience but are necessary to improve the end-user experience to realize our ultimate goal: Machine Learning made beautifully easy for everyone. BigML has spun out AccuShoot
AccuShoot combines computer vision and Machine Learning to significantly reduce the resources and the time required to improve and sharpen the marksmanship skills of law-abiding citizens, law enforcement forces, and military service members by automatically tracking and providing feedback on actual shooting performance during live fire drills. AccuShoot eliminates the old-fashioned way of developing shooters’ marksmanship skill based on collecting targets, notebooks, and spreadsheets to track performance.
