AWS re:Invent 2023 is happening in Las Vegas, Nevada between November 27th and December 1st. It is the most comprehensive event of the year that AWS hosts and is the fastest way to learn about AWS and sharpen your skills.
We have curated a dedicated track of Internet of Things (IoT) sessions and have organized them here so you can easily find the topics that interest you. Within the IoT track, you’ll find focus areas for Automotive, Industrial, Smart Home, and Location. Innovation Talks and Breakouts are lecture-style, delivered by AWS thought leaders and often feature customer speakers, allowing you to hear directly from your peers in other companies. Chalk Talks, Workshops, and Builders’ sessions are more interactive, technical, and hands-on and led by AWS technical subject matter experts.
You can also visit the AWS Village, Developer’s Lounge, and Industries Pavilion within the Expo to strike up a conversation with AWS IoT experts and see demos that feature IoT services.

AWS Village – Emerging tech kiosk
Visit the emerging tech kiosk to see demos covering IoT, Robotics, and Quantum. The IoT demo will be a customized variation of AWS DeepRacer hardware, showcasing a range of connectivity technologies (Cellular LTE/NB-IoT, Wi-Fi, LoRaWAN) and cross integration with Alexa, Amazon Sidewalk, and Amazon Location Services. The AWS DeepRacer IoT demo explores the transformative potential of AWS IoT at the edge across various industries. It shows how organizations can use AWS IoT Greengrass to unlock the power of edge computing in scenarios such as connected car, smart cities, and agriculture. Come see how AWS IoT at the edge empowers organizations to bridge the gap between the physical and digital worlds by bringing intelligent and scalable capabilities to the edge of their networks.
Developer’s lounge – Open Source Auto: Vegas Edition
Experience an engaging and interactive automotive driving demo that showcases how AWS helps unlock the value of vehicle data for virtually any use case, from monitoring vehicle fleet health to enhancing the in-cabin experience. You will step into the driver seat of our automotive cockpit, complete with a realistic touchscreen dashboard, steering wheel, pedals, and bucket seat. Using a simulator, you will navigate streets in a virtual cityscape complete with street lights, turns, obstacles, and live traffic. While you’re steering, braking, and accelerating, you’ll be able to observe in near real time vehicle CAN signals and various sensor data, all while gaining insight into the running application processes. You will see all of the newest AWS IoT services and features in action, including those from AWS IoT FleetWise, AWS IoT Core, and AWS IoT Greengrass. This engaging demo is more than a simulation – it is a glimpse into the future of connected vehicle technology and the art of the possible for automotive monitoring and analysis.
Industries Pavilion – Automotive
Connected mobility – Connected Mobility Solution on AWS is a platform engineering offering, providing customers and partners an environment designed to reduce friction, time, and cost, when developing, deploying, and managing connected vehicle infrastructure. See how to build innovative solutions using AWS services like AWS IoT Core and the purpose-built automotive service, AWS IoT FleetWise.
OCPP-compliant EV charging at scale – The shift from fossil fuels to electric powered vehicles is a key component of government and commercial commitments to achieve net-zero emissions. Charge Point Operators (CPO) are responsible for regular remote and on-site maintenance, collecting health metrics, and managing operational configurations. Learn how services like AWS IoT Core, Amazon Elastic Container Service, and AWS Lambda are used to build highly-scalable, low-latency CPO solutions based on the EV industry standard, OCPP. Customers will learn how AWS managed services reduce the heavy lifting associated with operating fleets of EV charges at scale.
Industries Pavilion – Manufacturing
Smart manufacturing | Drive operational insights with smart manufacturing – The Amazon Smart Manufacturing demo showcases AWS for Industrial services (Industrial IoT and Machine Learning) and Solutions (Industrial Data Fabric) demonstrating visual inspection, material traceability, condition base monitoring and cloud-driven automation. The demo contains a linear track, pick ‘n place robot, and a visual inspection camera that are integrated using industrial automation equipment with AWS through the industrial edge running on an AWS Snowcone.
Machine learning | Optimize industrial operations with machine learning – This demo will feature a motor that customers can introduce an anomalous condition (abnormal vibration), and then watch as the Amazon Monitron wireless sensors send vibration data to the Monitron Gateway and to AWS. You will be able to see the alerts come through on the anomalous motor conditions through the Amazon Monitron Application, and learn how easy it is to take action. Additionally, we will showcase how quality inspection and computer vision (CV) can automate quality inspection.
Generative AI | Build generative AI applications for manufacturing – Industrial companies are looking for ways to take advantage of generative AI to transform their businesses, including creating radical, new product designs, driving unprecedented levels of manufacturing productivity, and optimizing supply chain applications. See a demo on how Amazon Web Services is making it simple for manufacturers to build and scale generative AI-based applications using foundation models.
